While you have the box of Candy Canes out why not give this quick hot chocolate a try. Perfect for warming you up on these cold days ;0)
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
100g bar plain chocolate, broken into chunks (I actually used white chocolate)
300ml milk
75ml single or double cream
Sugar, to taste, if required
2 peppermint candy canes, to serve
Put the chocolate in a pan with the milk. Gently heat, stirring until all the chocolate has melted. Continue heating until the milk is steaming, then remove from the heat and stir in the cream.
Divide between 2 mugs, add sugar to taste and hang a candy cane on the edge of each. Stir your hot chocolate with the candy cane - letting as much of the sweet peppermint dissolve as you fancy.
Serves 2

ReplyDeleteHi there, just discovered your blog and realised that I made this last week and blogged about it the other day! Looks even more yum with white chocolate and I still have some candy canes left over so I might give it another whirl. Amusingly I couldn't get any decent photos of mine either!
